Membership Updates

On behalf of the Executive Board, it is my pleasure to send you greetings, and thank you for your continued membership with MACTE. MACTE Board members represent Massachusetts educator preparation programs at meetings of the Educational Personnel Advisory Council (EPAC), various Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education steering committees and task forces, as well as participate in national committees affiliated with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. The MACTE Board is also proactive in writing letters of support and concern regarding proposed legislation, regulations and assessments. Despite these challenging times, MACTE continues to represent you and our member institutions on matters related to current educator preparation issues and policy through working groups and the following MACTE Committees:
Political Advocacy Committee Brings before the board important issues impacting teacher education, inform board and members of statewide and national matters impacting teacher education and represent the board on such matters at national and statewide meetings. Communication/Conference Event Planning Committee Oversees all aspects of the fall and spring conferences (e.g. communications, registration, proposal reviewer, conference event planner). Membership Committee Seeks to increase the number of financial members Mission and Vision Committee Reviews MACTE’s current mission/vision Nomination Committee Produces a list of eligible members and a slate of officers for the Board of Directors, to be voted on bi-annually at the MACTE Spring Conference. Website Committee Oversees MACTE website in order to keep it current, relevant and informative. |
