MACTE Spring CONFERENCE

​Friday, March 22, 2024 

Proposals are currently being sought for the Spring 2024 Conference of MACTE, MAECTE, and COMTEC on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. This conference is a space where participants come together to learn about and discuss topics relevant to educator preparation in early childhood and P-12 educational settings. Please find additional information about the conference theme, proposal requirements and submission process below.

Call for Presentations

Proposals are currently being sought for the Spring 2024 Conference of MACTE, MAECTE, and COMTEC. The theme for the MACTE Spring 2024 Conference is Nurturing Today, Cultivating Tomorrow: How to Build and Sustain Current and Future Educators. Priority will be given to proposals that identify recruitment/retention policies/practices while inspiring hope for the future of teaching. All presentations will be one-hour. Topics for consideration include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Educator pathways and teacher apprenticeships as a strategy for addressing shortages and diversity gaps
  • ​Policies and practices aimed at decreasing teacher psychological distress/promoting emotional regulation
  • Curricular resources for helping pre-service and in-service teachers to identify, address, and prevent burnout
  • Exploring the roles of teacher collegiality and professional community in educator well-being
  • Enhancing and expanding induction and mentoring for new teachers
  • Considerations of teacher burnout as a systemic, institutional, or policy-based issue 
 
Proposal Requirements
To submit a proposal for review, you must include the following elements:
  • Contact Information & Institutional Affiliation
  • Brief presenter(s) Biographies (100 words)
  • Title of Session
  • Session Proposal (200-300 words)
  • Session Abstract for the Conference Program (50 words)

Proposal Submission: February 1, 2024
You can submit your proposal online by February 1, 2024. If your proposal is accepted, you will be required to provide a copy of your presentation to MACTE prior to your session. All presenters are required to pay for conference registration if accepted.

Registration Information
The cost is $135 for General Admission and $70 Graduate Students.
