Tribute to Dr. Janet Arndt

It is with great sorrow that MACTE must report the passing of Dr. Janet Arndt a long standing MACTE member and leader. Most recently, Dr. Arndt has served as our MACTE President. We are devastated by this loss. MACTE has been fortunate to have had the leadership and influence of Dr. Janet Arndt for nearly a decade. She was a both a Gordon College and UMass College of Education Alumni. After returning to Gordon in 2001 as their licensure officer, she created programs, helped establish the school of education as its inaugural Dean and participated in sustaining high quality educational practices for future teachers at her institution. Dr. Arndt was not only an inherent leader, but was also funny, kind, and saw the potential in those around her. We have been honored to be her colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to her family, friends and colleagues in the face of this sudden loss. We will miss our friend dearly.
