membership benefits and overview
MACTE is a state-wide organization that brings together professionals from educator preparation institutions and organizations from across Massachusetts and focuses on the critical issues impacting our work in the field of PreK-12 education.
MACTE’s conferences and programming are thoughtfully designed to address the current educational landscape. The Board works with member institutions to elevate concerns impacting educator preparation with representatives from the Educator Effectiveness team at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our goal is to be the voice of our community and to advocate for policy issues (i.e., Program Approval, early literacy guidelines, MTELs, etc.) that impact our collective work to prepare the next generation of PreK-12 teachers and leaders.
MACTE’s professional development theme for the 2025-26 academic year is Calling on Community: Collaborating to Prepare Confident Teachers in Challenging Times. We are pleased to announce a spring conference and a robust series of monthly communities of practice to network with colleagues, deepen our understanding of pressing issues, and engage with the state.
Finally, for those of you at institutions that are current members of MACTE, we extend our appreciation and hope that you will continue to partner with us in the coming year. If you are new to the MACTE community or your institution, we welcome your participation and invite you to the state-wide teacher preparation community. We will circulate additional information about membership in the coming month!
In the meantime, if you have questions about MACTE or wish to join us, please do not hesitate to reach out ([email protected]). We look forward to seeing you this year!
