Education award
The Friend of Education Award, MACTE’s highest honor, is bestowed on an individual, organization, or group whose leadership, acts, or support have significantly benefited Educator Preparation. Contribution to the Educator Preparation field could be in the form of service, policy contributions, advocacy, research, mentoring or leadership.
MACTE select recipients of the award based on the following criteria:

- Exemplary efforts to support the mission of Educator Preparation as well as the mission of the MACTE.
- Exemplary leadership in promoting public awareness of Educator Preparation practices and/or policies
- Exemplary efforts providing services and opportunities for mentoring/supporting educators joining the field
- Exemplary efforts to contribute to Educator Preparation practices in ways that provide vision that is grounded in research and replicable across programs.
